Until You’re Mine
Claudia, pregnant and glowing- so happy that life is going well. She’s married to her dream man, James, she has 2 step-sons, and with a baby girl on the way- well life is good. Since James will be out of town when the baby is born for his job as a naval officer- Claudia knows she needs help at the house. So, she sets out to hire a nanny.
Enter Zoe. Zoe, on paper, looks amazing. She’s got all these great references, has wonderful experience, and the boys seem to like her. But, Claudia just has a feeling that Zoe is not all she seems. As Claudia and Zoe begin to get to know each other and talk of Claudia’s baby- Zoe is evasive about her past and wanting children. Claudia begins to feel nervous, especially as she begins to feel that Zoe is openly envious of her pregnancy.
Claudia has reason to be nervous- there is someone going around attacking pregnant women. With James gone and Zoe acting strange, Claudia begins to worry about her safety. Especially, when she finds pictures of files from her office on Zoe’s computer- pictures that are related to Claudia’s work.
Who is attacking the pregnant women? Does Claudia have reason to be afraid? And just what is Zoe’s story?
Traveling With T’s Thoughts:
UNTIL YOU’RE MINE when reading the synopsis of this book, it seems pretty straightforward. But, then it wouldn’t be a psychological thriller if it was straightforward, right? Dig deeper. Look harder. And enjoy the ride!
The characters, the setting, and the drama- sometimes, honestly, the book was a bit slow. It was not terrible, it just almost stalled in places. I firmly blame my ability to get ridiculously excited about a book that I’m eager to read and THE LAST WINTER OF DANI LANCING which was the last psychological thriller I read set overseas (and the one that almost broke me from this genre).
In the 2nd half of the book, as I got to know more about Zoe and Claudia, Samantha Hayes made me want to flip pages faster and faster- I began to get deeply involved in the characters lives.
Overall, I’m strongly recommending. Perfect, it is not, but the things that it does good, it does them very well. And the parts that are not quite as entertaining- in the end, they all make sense.
Fans of psychological thrillers- meet the next book you need to read, UNTIL YOU’RE MINE.
